HR & Corporate Services Administrator (Hybrid)

The Pensions Ombudsman is growing fast and is a great place to work. We have an exciting opportunity for a HR and Corporate Services Administrator to join our team based in Canary Wharf, where we currently operate an agile working policy of 20% office attendance and a flexible working culture.  You will be working full or part-time on a permanent contract and will receive a competitive salary of £33,310 per annum pro rata. Who are we? 

As a totally independent body, not part of the pensions industry or government, we investigate and make decisions when someone has been unable to resolve a complaint about how their pension has been managed. Our service is free, but we have legal powers to make decisions that are final, binding, and enforceable in court.

Purpose of the role 

Reporting to the Head of HR, this role sits within the Corporate Services Directorate which provides professional support to the organisation, consisting of Office Management, Engagement and Public Affairs, Communications, Human Resources, Finance, Information Governance, MI Analysis and Digital Project support and delivery. 

The role will have some core responsibilities, but activities will vary according to business need, providing the job holder with experience across the range of professional functions. The post holder will provide a range of HR duties alongside directorate support, including a focus on daily post duties when in the office alongside wider HR administrative support.  

Key duties

HR 

  • Manage the onboarding of new employees through issuing of offer letters, contracts, new starter forms etc. 

  • Complete day one new starter inductions ensuring building and IT arrangements. 

  • Issue staff with amendments to terms and conditions. 

  • Maintain the accuracy of the HR information system by updating existing staff records and setting up new staff profiles. 

  • Support the HR Officer on co-ordination of L&D and Performance reviews including assisting with training initiatives.  

  • Work as a team to manage the HR email inbox dealing with emails and escalating to colleagues and Head of HR as required. 

  • Assist with the coordination of end-to-end recruitment as required including the recruitment inbox. 

  • Signpost and guide colleagues to HR policies and procedures. 

  • Lead on the staff benefits, including in year awards, providing reports and insight when required. 

  • Conduct exit interviews, manage the data and refer to Head of HR as necessary. 

  • Lead on all aspects of leave management (special, annual, agile working, flexible working, study)   

  • Preparation of information for payroll  

  • Wider HR administrative tasks including data presentation and support for training 

  • Undertake other HR related tasks and projects commensurate with grade, development requirements and business need. 

  • Provide administrative support to the TPO panels and groups as required.
